Going viral severely hijacks focus, productivity, and mental well-being, causing constant checking, inability to do deep work, and exposure to trolls. To manage this overwhelming attention, delete the app, block negativity, practice stillness, and build protective systems, not just willpower, to maintain composure and focus.

You think you want to go viral until it actually happens. Then your prefrontal cortex gets hijacked by notifications and you realize you can't focus on anything else. You check your phone every few minutes. You struggle to complete basic tasks. You understand that virality is a psychological event, and you weren't prepared for it.

I went viral on Instagram last week. A street video with Chris Do asking "How much do you charge per hour?" had over 1.1 million views within 36 hours. Comments flooded in with disbelief, curiosity, and plenty of strong opinions. My follower count grew by 2k. Messages hit my inbox. And my ability to do the deep work that built my personal brand in the first place? It disappeared.
