Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) raged at cluster of her own caucus after efforts to discipline a Democrat with ties to Jeffrey Epstein were thwarted in the House on Tuesday night.
The ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus’ moved to censure Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-V.I.) and remove her from the House Intelligence Committee after documents revealed Plaskett had been texting Epstein during 2019 testimony with President Donald Trump’s former fixer, Michael Cohen.
But the bid failed by flimsy margins, as three Republicans joined Democrats to vote no while another three registered as “present,” resulting in a 209-214-3 split.
Afterwards, an incensed Boebert shouted down a group of her GOP colleagues, wagging her finger and screaming, “This is why America hates us,” words the Colorado congresswoman directly confirmed to The Wall Street Journal’s Olivia Beavers.
Proof of Plaskett’s close connection to Epstein comes as Congress reached a rare bipartisan consensus demanding the Justice Department release more information about its investigation into the late sex offender.
