JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar was chosen leader of the NDA in Bihar during a meeting of newly elected MLAs of the alliance partners on Wednesday. Mr. Kumar will take oath as the Chief Minister for a record 10th time at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan on Thursday (November 20). Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several other Union Ministers and CMs of NDA-ruled states are expected to attend the ceremony.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested alleged gangster Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of jailed “gangster” Lawrence Bishnoi, after he was deported from the United States to India. The accused had been on the run since 2022 and is the 19th person held in the NIA’s terror-gangster conspiracy case. He was charged in March 2023 for allegedly helping his brother and designated “terrorist” Goldy Brar carry out terror activities between 2020 and 2023.
