Parts of Kerala, especially the southern and central region including the hilly tracts bordering the Western Ghats will continue to experience isolated heavy showers for the next five days, triggered by the low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday, a low-pressure area persists over the southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast with associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level. The system is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards during the next 24 hours.
