U.S. Treasury yields were little changed as investors monitored the state of the U.S. economy with the government shutdown becoming the longest in U.S. history.

At 5:50 a.m. ET, the 10-year Treasury yield was down less than a basis point to 4.087% while The 2-year Treasury note yield was one basis point lower to 3.57%. The 30-year bond yield held steady at 4.673%.

One basis point equals 0.01% and yields and prices move in opposite directions.

The U.S. government shutdown has become the longest in U.S. history, reaching 36 days, and surpassing the previous record which lasted 35 days, from December 22, 2018 to January 25, 2019.
