Tuesday is Election Day 2025, and eyes are on a few key races across the country, including some in New York, New Jersey and Virginia, and a ballot measure in California that could help Democrats flip the House in 2026.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time.

New York City’s mayoral race has been closely watched. Zohran Mamdani, an Assemblymember representing the 36th district, won the Democratic primaries in June. He is favored to win against his opponents, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an independent, and the Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa.

President Donald Trump, who once lived and ran businesses in New York, has been outspoken against Mamdani, calling him a communist and saying he is “much better looking person” than him. Trump endorsed Cuomo for mayor on Sunday.
