Escher-style floor-to-wall-wall-and-floor, and, of course, golden bathroom fixtures,” Colbert said. “Because Trump is into ... well, he said it best.”With that, he rolled a clip of Trump at a 2023 campaign event describing one of the most salacious accusations in a discredited dossier compiled by ex-British spy Christopher Steele.“Golden showers, as they say they call them,” Trump said. The dossier claimed that Trump had paid prostitutes in Moscow to let him watch as they peed on a bed that former President Barack Obama had once used, and that Russian intelligence may have taped it. That has never been verified, but Colbert did once rent the hotel suite where it was alleged to have happened.See more in his Monday night monologue: Close
