The Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway observed “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which is observed nationwide as National Unity Day.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Lalit Bohra administered the unity pledge. Later, addressing the gathering, Mr. Bohra highlighted the significance of National Unity Day, and emphasised its importance in boosting morale and fostering a spirit of togetherness. A unity walkathon was organised from the DRM Office to the Visakhapatnam Railway Station, which drew a large participation from officers and staff.
ADRM (Infrastructure) E. Santharam, ADRM (Operations) K. Rama Rao, and Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Jusuf Kabir Ansari, also participated in the event reinforcing the message of unity.
Rich tributes were paid to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s resolute leadership and unwavering commitment to national integrity and unity, with the speakers describing him as a dynamic statesman, whose vision was instrumental in unifying India.
