Björn Andrésen, the Swedish actor and musician known for his iconic youthful role in Luchino Visconti's 1971 classic film Death in Venice died at the age of 70 on Saturday, October 25, Kristian Petri, co-director of The Most Beautiful Boy in the World, a 2021 documentary about the actor, told the Swedish newspaper 'Dagens Nyheter'.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Andrésen made his name as a child prodigy at the age of 15 in Death in Venice, an adaptation of Thomas Mann's 1912 novel of the same name.

He played Tadzio, with whom an older man played by Dirk Bogarde falls in love.

At the film's premiere, Visconti called Andrésen "the most beautiful boy in the world," a nickname that stuck with him throughout his life, much to his chagrin.
