Podcaster Steve Bannon said on Thursday he has a plan that would allow President Donald Trump to serve another term in office ― and critics are warning Americans to take that threat very seriously.
“He’s gonna get a third term,” Bannon said in an interview The Economist published on Thursday. “Trump is gonna be president in ’28 and people just ought to get accommodated with that.”
He didn’t offer specifics on how that would be accomplished, given that the U.S. Constitution explicitly rules that out for Trump.
“There’s many different alternatives,” Bannon said. “At the appropriate time, we’ll lay out what the plan is, but there’s a plan.”
But he did offer some hints when asked about the specific wording on the 22nd Amendment, which states:
