The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has deployed 2,695 special buses to operate to and from Coimbatore till Sunday, to clear Deepavali rush.
Special bus services to Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, and neighbouring southern districts will depart from Singanallur Bus Station; buses to Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Pudukottai, Karaikudi, and Karur will operate from Sulur Bus Station; buses to Ooty, Coonoor, and Gudalur will operate from the New Bus Stand on Mettupalayam Road; buses to Mettupalayam, Sathyamangalam, Erode, Salem, and Tiruppur will operate from Gandhipuram Central Bus Station; and buses to Pollachi, Udumalpet, Palani, and Palakkad will operate from Ukkadam Bus Station.

An official from TNSTC said that all arrangements have been made following a review meeting held by the District Collector, where heads of all concerned departments were present. A committee has been constituted with representatives from traffic police and TNSTC, to manage additional bus services and passenger complaints. Senior officials will be deployed at bus stations on rotation to supervise operations.
Passenger turnout on Thursday and Friday was minimal, but higher crowds are expected on Saturday and Sunday, the official noted.
