Students of the NSS Unit of Anjalai Ammal Mahalingam Engineering College, Kovilvenni, planted palmyrah seeds along Tiruchi-Thanjavur-Nagapattinam Highway on Tuesday, October 14.
According to a Green Needa press release, the saplings were planted for about 5 km on both sides of the carriageway. The seeds plantation formed part of the ‘Planting of one crore palmyrah seeds in Delta region’, a project executed by Green Needa in association with the Tamil Nadu State NSS, State Forest Department and Bharathidasan University NSS.
