A Nor’easter is expected to whip parts of the Mid-Atlantic coast with strong winds and heavy rain as it pushes into New Jersey on Oct. 13, according to the National Weather Service, which refers to the phenomenon as a “coastal low."

Flight delays have been ticking up all morning with nearly 1,300 U.S. flight delays and about 120 cancellations as of 9:40 a.m. ET, according to FlightAware, which tracks flight status.

Travelers whose flights are canceled are automatically entitled to a full refund or fee-free rebooking, according to Department of Transportation rules.

Airlines don’t owe travelers anything for delays due to weather, which is out of their control, but they are offering the following flexibility around the storm.

Travelers with flights scheduled to, from or through the following cities on Oct. 13 are eligible for fee-free rebooking.
