Powerful Nor’Easter Slams Northeast, Grounding Thousands Of Flights, Forcing Travel BansHeavy snow and strong winds from a powerful nor’easter have left much of the northeastern U.S. facing travel bans and blizzard warnings, with snow falling at a rate of 2 to 3 inches an hour from New York through Massachusetts.In the New York City area, a travel ban is in effect through noon today, with a blizzard warning and coastal flood warnings in effect until 6 p.m.Nearly 600,000 people were without power across the Northeast as of late Monday morning.
