The truce in Gaza has come thanks to US President Donald Trump and not to UN Palestinian rapporteur Francesca Albanese, CGIL trade union chief Maurizio Landini or climate and Gaza activist Greta Thunberg with their protests against the Israeli conduct of the war, Premier Giorgia Meloni said Friday.
"Hamas is not signing" the peace agreement "for Landini, nor for Albanese who insulted (Holocaust survivor Liliana) Segre, nor for Greta with the Flotilla.
"There is one person to thank: Trump, the Republican president of the United States.
"We will not be lectured by an increasingly radicalized left," Meloni said at the closing of Alessandro Tomasi's election campaign as the centre-right Tuscany governor candidate in Florence.
