The Delhi High Court (HC) on Tuesday (Ocotber 7, 2025) said it concluded a 90-day nationwide mediation drive aimed at promoting amicable settlement of pending disputes through structured mediation across all talukas, districts, and high courts.The drive, ‘Mediation for the Nation’, conceptualised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in association with the mediation and conciliation project committee (MCPC), was conducted from July 1 to September 30.The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from parties, advocates, and trained mediators, who worked in a collaborative spirit to ensure the effective resolution of civil, family, and commercial disputes, the court said.“Innovative measures such as online mediation sessions, focused settlement drives, and personalised case follow-ups were instrumental in achieving this outcome,” said a press statement by the Delhi HC.“Within a short span of about three months, 28,141 matters were referred for mediation in the Delhi HC and the Delhi District Courts, out of which 4,316 matters were settled and 13,938 matters referred,” it said.These figures show that the mediation drive was a huge success,” the statement said.“The mediation drive has set a strong precedent in demonstrating the effectiveness of mediation in addressing the growing pendency in the judicial system while empowering parties to resolve disputes amicably,” the statement added.
