Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Forecasters warned of dangerous surf and "life-threatening" rip currents at beaches of the northern Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda and much of the U.S. East Coast as Hurricane Humberto dissipated in the Atlantic.
The National Hurricane Center said the remnants of Humberto merged with a weather front in an 11 a.m. AST update, the last on this storm.
The storm had maximum sustained winds of 70 mph and was moving east-northeast at 23 mph. The storm was about 340 miles north-northeast of Bermuda, which was under a hurricane warning due to the approaching Hurricane Imelda.
No coastal watches or warnings were in effect, though forecasters continued to warn that its swells could persist for the next few days.
