The Krishna district police registered a case against the YSR Congress party leaders for allegedly organising ‘Chalo Medical Colleges’ rally on Friday (September 19, 2025), violating the police orders.

Leaders of YSR Congress party gave a call to the leaders to organise ‘Chalo Government Medical Colleges’ protesting the government’s move to privatise medical colleges in the State.

Though police denied permission for the protest, the YSRCP leaders organised a rally from Bhaskarpuram to Radar Centre. The protestors allegedly behaved rudely with the police officers and disrupted their duties.

Former Minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani), his son Perni Krishna Murthy (Kittu), leaders Kaile Anil Kumar, Uppala Ramu, Simhadri Ramesh Babu, Devineni Avinash, Devabattula Chakravarthy and their followers took out the rally.

“Though the police and revenue officers clarified that there was no permission for the protest, the YSRCP leaders took out the rally. A case has been registered in the Machilipatnam police station against 400 persons for organising the protest,” a police officer said on Saturday (September 20, 2025).
