Dairy firm Heritage Foods is revising prices of various products in line the recent rationalisation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) ahead of the festive season.
Effective September 22, it is passing on the benefit of the GST rate rationalisation on to the consumers and reduced prices across multiple dairy categories, the company said.
Under the revised pricing, MRP on long shelf-life UHT Milk is being reduced by ₹3 per litre. There is no price change for fresh milk as the category is exempted from GST.
MRP on ghee will reduced by ₹50 per litre, while butter price will be lower by ₹50 per kg. MRP on cheese will go down by ₹50 per kg and paneer prices by ₹25 a kg. The MRP of the 950 ml pack ice cream will be lower by ₹35 per pack while the 700ml pack will cost ₹20 less per pack.
Executive Director Brahmani Nara said for India’s dairy industry the GST rate rationalisation is welcome and timely.
