Sept. 18 (UPI) -- A rider on a rollercoaster at Universal's Epic Universe in Orlando died Wednesday of "multiple blunt impact injuries," the Orange County Medical Examiner said Thursday. The incident has been ruled an accident.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said off-duty deputies found a man in his 30s on the ride Wednesday night. He was then taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man has been identified as Kevin Rodrigues-Zavala, 32. The rollercoaster is called Stardust Racers.
"We are devastated by this event and extend our sincerest sympathies to the guest's loved ones," said Universal Orlando Resorts in a statement. "We are fully committed to cooperating with this ongoing investigation."
Stardust Racers will stay closed while the investigation continues, park officials said.
