The Bannimantap Grounds will be one of the most busiest venues during the upcoming Dasara festivities in Mysuru, hosting a series of big events starting from September 27 and continuing till October 2.The much-awaited Dasara Air Show will kick off on September 27 at 4 p.m., which is expected to attract large crowds. On September 28 and 29, the venue will feature the Drone Show, one of the major highlights of the festival, organised by the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), starting at 6 p.m. on both days.On October 1, the Dasara Air Show will take place again at 4 p.m., followed by the full dress rehearsal of the grand Torchlight Parade. The Torchlight Parade, which is the finale of the Dasara celebrations on the day of Vijayadashami, is scheduled for October 2 at 6 p.m. after the Jamboo Savari event in the morning.In view of the stadium’s seating capacity and to ensure public convenience, entry will be allowed only to those holding valid passes issued for the respective dates.“For safety reasons and due to limited seats in the stadium, people without passes will not be permitted inside the venue during the events,” said Deputy Commissioner and Dasara Special Officer G. Lakshmikant Reddy, in a press release here.Additionally, tickets are available online for the main Torchlight Parade event on October 2 and for the Drone Shows on September 28 and 29. The Torchlight Parade tickets are priced at ₹1,500 per person and the Drone Show tickets are priced at ₹1,000 per person. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the official Dasara website.The Dasara Air Show, which drew large crowds in 2023, is expected to grab eyeballs again this year. The Defence Ministry has given its approval for the event, allowing the spectacular display of metal birds to take to the skies during the Dasara celebrations.The Air Show was last conducted in 2019, but was subsequently cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It resumed in 2023 following a four-year gap. This year, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah personally met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and requested the facilitation of the Air Show during the Dasara festivities. The Defence Ministry gave a nod for the show and the State government thanked the Minister for considering its request.
