Three Maoists carrying a total reward of ₹24 lakh were killed in an anti-Maoist operation conducted in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district for the past two days, said a police officer on Saturday.
As reported earlier, the police had declared on Friday that two Maoists had been killed, one more body was recovered on Saturday under the same operation, Superintendent of Police (Bijapur) Jitendra Kumar Yadav said.
“On September 12 at Lendra Korcholi (Gangaloor), two Maoist cadres were neutralised and one .303 rifle, one 12-bore gun, explosives, and other Maoist material were recovered. On September 13, at Kakekorma (Gangaloor), in a follow-up search operation, one Maoist cadre was neutralised and a 12-bore gun, one barrel grenade launcher, explosives, and Maoist literature were recovered,” he added.
The deceased were identified as Hidma Podiyam, Munna Madkam and Arun Madkam — all cadres of different ranks with each carrying a reward of ₹8 lakh. Bastar Inspector General P. Sundarraj added that from January 2024 to September 13, 2025, a total of 432 Maoists had been killed in Bastar.
