Giorgio Armani SPA's executive committee, which is made up of members of the late designer's family and top executives and was set up to manage the transition after his death last week, said in a statement that his will shall be respected after the contents of it were revealed on Friday.

'As of now, we feel, including on behalf of the employees and collaborators, that we are committed to supporting this path in respect of his will, with the agreement to ensure the best possible future for the company and the brand in compliance with its established principles," the statement said.

L'Oréal, one of the preferred potential buyers of the fashion house named in the will, said it would carefully consider becoming a stakeholder, adding that it was "touched and honoured" to have been considered by Armani, who died aged 91 last week.
