President Donald Trump said on Friday morning that a suspect is in custody for the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was turned into police overnight by his father and a minister in southern Utah after authorities shared images of the shooter, Trump said on Fox News.

The manhunt for Charlie Kirk's assassin was on its third day after the FBI and Utah officials admitted they don't know who the suspect's identity.

Utah's Governor Spencer Cox pleaded with the public to help find the person who shot the 31-year-old conservative commentator dead while he spoke to students at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

During a news conference Thursday with FBI Director Kash Patel, authorities showed a video of a person being sought in connection with the killing racing across the roof of the building where the shot was fired, dropping down to the ground and fleeing into the woods, from where investigators have found a high-powered rifle.
