A woman computer trainer of a government teacher in Jayamkondam, who made an attempt to end her life on September 9, died at the Thanjavur Government Medical College Hospital on September 11.
P. Sathya of Melakudiyiruppu took the extreme step allegedly due to usury. In a clip, which was reportedly recorded before she took the extreme step, she said that she had borrowed money from a person and repaid the amount with interest. The total interest was more than the principal amount she borrowed. But a group of persons continued to torment her and demanded more money. She could not bear the torture and hence she was forced to take the step, she said in the clip. She named five persons in the clip.
The Jayamkondam police have registered a case and are investigating.
