A middle-aged woman drowned in a river at Kottuvally near North Paravur on Tuesday in an alleged case of suicide prompted by reported harassment by a moneylender.
Asha Benny, 42, a homemaker from South Koduvally allegedly took the extreme step by jumping into the river near her house. The North Paravur police said they had registered a case of unnatural death following the incident.
