The Indian Medical Association (IMA-Andhra Pradesh), in collaboration with the IMA College of General Practitioners (IMA-CGP) A.P., is set to launch a one-year certificate course in diabetology, said IMA State president Garlapati Nandakishore.
In a statement, the IMA members said the course, commencing in November, will benefit rural practitioners as well as specialists from various disciplines.
Since diabetes affects almost every organ in the human body, it is essential that all doctors, including specialists and general practitioners, are updated with the latest treatment protocols, Dr. Nandakishore said. The initiative will help doctors provide improved care to diabetic patients, the members, including IMA State secretary M. Subhash Chandra Bose, said.
IMA member from Piduguralla Dhulipalla Bharat Kumar has been appointed as the convenor for the course. The academic sessions will be conducted under the guidance of G. Eswar, former Siddhartha Medical College principal and former head of the Department of General Medicine.
The first batch will be limited to 50 participants, who will be allowed on a first-come-first-serve basis. For more information, one can contact Dr. Subhash Chandra Bose at 9246472499.
