The unclear US position regarding the enforcement of sanctions against buyers of Russian LNG is adding to the uncertainty over supply availability in the months before the wave of new global liquefaction capacity kicks in next year. Clarifying the consequences toward those countries and companies infringing upon Western sanctions, in particular Chinese buyers, would help with preparations ahead of what is believed to be the last tight winter season in the global gas market.
