A recovering ketamine addict has warned youngsters against the drug, saying it 'destroyed his life' and can do more damage in two years than 20 years of heroin.

Liam J, 37, became addicted to ketamine in his early 20s, abusing it for more than a decade and miraculously surviving to warn others against the increasingly popular drug.

He now suffers incontinence problems, liver pains and has been told by medical professionals that he has 'irreversible damage' - as the drug surges in popularity among British teens using their 'pocket money' to buy it on social media.

'I've been in hysterics before unable to sleep, crying. If I was to describe it as anything else I'd say it's like being kicked in the balls, but constantly.

'You're crippled, you can't move or do anything. You're coiled in a fetal position for hours.
