Tourists will be allowed to visit the Thiruvalluvar Statue via the glass bridge from Wednesday onwards, as the crack in one of the glasses in the bridge above the sea has been rectified.

After a small crack in one of the glasses in the bridge connecting Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the 133-feet-tall Thiruvalluvar Statue here was noticed on Monday, steps were taken immediately to replace the damaged portion. During the repair work carried out on Monday night, the damaged glass plate was removed and the new one was installed after the experts inspected and confirmed its strength.

After the new glass plate was fixed, the experts once again checked its sturdiness on Tuesday. Hence, the visitors will be allowed to visit the glass bridge on Wednesday (September 10), District Collector R. Alaugmeena said.
