Prosecutors in Turin have said that Stellantis and Ferrari Chairman John Elkann has agreed to do a year of community service in order to close a criminal investigation into alleged tax evasion on the Agnelli family inheritance.

Elkann and his siblings Lapo and Ginevra also agreed to jointly pay a fine of 183 million euros to settle the dispute.

Elkann's lawyer said the agreement, which must be ratified by a judge, does not amount to an admission of guilt.

The case regards the inheritance of the estate of Elkann's grandmother Marella Caracciolo, who was the wife of former Fiat boss Gianni Agnelli and died in 2019.

It was sparked by a dispute between which sees Gianni Agnelli's daughter Margherita pitched against her eldest children - John, Lapo and Ginevra Elkann.
