Oregon authorities arrested a man they allege was living in a crawl space in a condo complex where he wasn't a resident.

Beniamin Bucur, 40, was taken into custody on burglary in the first degree and unlawful possession of methamphetamine charges on Wednesday, Sept. 3, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. Clackamas is about 16 miles south of Portland.

Deputies responded to a report from a witness who claimed the man was spotted walking to the back of one of the complex buildings.

"The witness also noticed the door to the crawl space was open, and light was coming from inside. The door then closed," officials said in a news release.

When deputies got to the scene, they found the crawl space door to be locked and damaged. They reached out to the owner, who confirmed that nobody was supposed to be in the area. However, officials said the owner described hearing strange noises.
