Camille Cottin calls her agent. She is sitting outside a café in the Marais neighbourhood of Paris one muggy day in July, having just realised she has left her earrings in a studio where she spent the morning being photographed. An almond milk latte is on its way, and she only has an hour before she needs to Lime-bike back to her apartment in the north of the city to see her children – a boy, 15, and a girl, 10.

Earrings located, it strikes me as a no-brainer to ask about her reprisal of the role that made her a global star in Call My Agent!, the Netflix comedy series that will return in 2026, as a movie. Creator Fanny Herrero is on board; the cast is reassembled; big-name cameos are rumoured. “You know what? At the beginning I was like, ‘Ufff, it’s been five years now, I moved on.’ But I just read the script, and it’s good to see her again,” says Cottin of Andréa Martel, the capricious talent agent she played for four seasons. She won’t be drawn on reports that Martel has relocated to New York, but concedes: “I have this romantic side as an actress, I love falling in love with my characters. Andréa’s cleverness, her boldness, her panache kept surprising me. So when we were reworking [it] I said, ‘We need that.’”
