A man has been charged with causing the deaths by dangerous driving of his brother and nephew.
Peter Webb, 40, and his 12-year-old son Ben were killed when a Skoda Octavia came off John Reid Road in South Shields, South Tyneside, at around 8.55pm on Saturday.
Michael Webb, 35, of Park Avenue, South Shields, was charged on Thursday with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, Northumbria Police said.
He was due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Friday morning, the force said.
