Tributes have been paid to a father and his 12-year-old son who died following a collision at the weekend.
Peter Webb, 40, and his son Ben died at the scene after the car they were travelling in left the road and crashed during a devastating incident in South Shields, South Tyneside, on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to John Reid Road, near the New Mill Inn, at around 8.55pm.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, both Peter and Ben suffered fatal injuries.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the incident.
