“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert called out President Donald Trump for attacking the city of Chicago as a “hellhole.”

“How dare you, sir?” Colbert, who once lived in the city, fired back. “Chicago is not a hellhole right now. Chicago is not a hellhole until February.”

Trump has threatened to send the military to the city to deal with crime there, something local officials say they don’t want or need.

Shootings and homicides are down more than 30%, and total violent crime is down 22% compared to last year, according to police data. But Trump called Chicago “the worst and most dangerous city in the world” in a social media post.

That led Colbert to deliver a response that got bleeped.
