Indira Gandhi Zoological Park receives six new species in animal exchange program with Kanpur Zoological Park.
The officials of the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) on Tuesday (September 2, 2025) said that six new species arrived in the zoo as part of an animal exchange programme between the IGZP and Kanpur Zoological Park.
The zoo received swamp deer, striped hyena (for bloodline exchange), common sand boa, red-crowned roof turtle, hog deer, kalij pheasant, ruddy shelduck and red sand boa from Kanpur Zoological Park.
