Water channel repair
The banks of Anathanar channel at Thittuvilai in Kanniyakumari district are damaged due to heavy rainfall and excessive digging at the channel wall foundations during the desilting operations. In addition, sewage also mixes in this waterway that delivers water from Pechiparai and Perunchani dams. The Water Resource Department (WRD) should carry out desilting operations carefully after repairing the damaged areas. Necessary action should also be taken against sewage dumping in a domestic water supply resource.
