Kazakhstan’s government has ratcheted up the pressure on the Shell- and Eni-led consortium overseeing the giant Karachaganak gas and condensate field development, demanding up to $5.7 billion in compensation for cost-recovery claims dating back over a decade, Shell UK Companies House filings show.
