Formerly Sotheby’s head of modern art, auctioneer Felix Kwok talks about his favourite painting, the power of positivity – and more

The wellness ritual you can’t live without? My work as an auctioneer can be high-pressure, and when I need to relax, I do weight training. I find it an almost meditative practice and do it three times a week, either at Pure Fitness or at the clubhouse at home.

The most conversation-sparking feature in your home? Guests often comment on the design of our home, which my talented wife, Grace, can take credit for. We live in Tseung Kwan O and have a great sea view. She made the most of the ocean vibe with blue walls and white furniture. It gives us a holiday feeling.

A scent that immediately brings you joy? My mother runs an aromatherapy business and, growing up, I was surrounded by perfumes and essential oils. She taught me about the functions of different oils. Magnolia is my favourite – it not only smells good but also relieves the respiratory issues I sometimes get when the weather in Hong Kong is hot and humid.
