A group of local firefighters who tried to save a two-year-old boy after he was hit by a car have laid flowers at the scene of the fatal collision.
Six crew members from Kent Fire and Rescue Service left a heartbreaking tribute to the youngster who died after a car collided with 'multiple pedestrians' in Whitstable, Kent, on Saturday.
They were called to the scene at the junction of Harbour Street and Cromwell Road along with other emergency services at around 8.24pm.
The toddler was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while medics rushed a man to hospital where he is receiving treatment for critical injuries.
A man in his 20s has been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
