Amid serious differences between the Dalit right (Holeyas) and the Dalit left (Madigas) over the report on internal reservation submitted by the H.N. Nagamohan Das Commission, the State government on Thursday deferred the special Cabinet meeting scheduled for Saturday over a lack of consensus among Ministers from Scheduled Castes communities. The Cabinet meeting will now be held on August 19.
While the Dalit left and microscopic SC communities have started an indefinite protest at Freedom Park here demanding the implementation of the Commission’s recommendations, the Dalit right and allied castes have petitioned the government to disregard the report terming it as “unscientific, incomplete and done with mala fide intentions.”
