Three persons suffered cut injuries when an altercation broke-out among them on Monday evening.

Police said Raja of Antoniyarpuram attacked labourer Kumar, 36, of Fatima Nagar and his friend Rahman, 28, with knife following an argument when the duo was enjoying tea in a roadside shop at Levingipuram on Thoothukudi – Tiruchendur Highway on Monday evening. In the retaliation, Raja also suffered cut injury.

As Sub-Inspector of Police of Thoothukudi South Police Station, Dharaniya, who was patrolling the area, saw the attack, she immediately intervened and rushed the victims to the Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Superintendent of Police Albert John appreciated the woman police officer’s valour with certificate on Tuesday.
