Anas al-Sharif, a journalist for Al Jazeera, was killed in an Israeli strike on Sunday (August 10, 2025). While the Israeli military admitted in a statement to targeting Anas al-Sharif by labelling him as a “terrorist” affiliated with Hamas, many rights advocates said he had been targeted for his frontline reporting on the Gaza war.
Anas al-Sharif, 28, died after a tent for journalists outside the main gate of al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City was struck.
