Following the IDF's statement that it killed Al Jazeera reporter Anas Al-Sharif overnight into Monday, Hamas called the assassination "a barbaric crime that surpasses all limits of fascism and criminality."
"The martyr Anas al-Sharif was a model of the free journalist, documenting the crime of starvation and showing the world the scenes of famine imposed by the occupation on our people in Gaza," Hamas wrote in its statement.
"The assassination of journalists and the intimidation of those who remain paves the way for a major crime that the occupation plans to commit in Gaza City, after silencing its media voice, so it can isolate its residents and commit massacres away from the eyes of the world," it added.
