Lau gets past semi-finals in Chengdu to already improve on her bronze at the last edition in Birmingham, Alabama

Grace Lau Mo-sheung is preparing for a tilt at karate gold at the World Games in Chengdu on Friday, and has urged the public to send her “positive energy” to help push her to glory.

The Hongkonger, who three years ago won bronze at the last edition of the Games in Birmingham, Alabama, beat Iran’s Fatemeh Sadeghi Dastak 44.9 to 41.9 in the semi-finals to qualify for Friday night’s final.

She will next face Japan’s Maho Ono, whom she defeated in June in Rabat, Morocco to claim her third Premier League gold medal and the overall title.
