For years now, animal activists and pet owners in Bengaluru have highlighted the lack of animal transportation services in the city. With the number of animal ambulances of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services few and far in between, the introduction of ‘pet services’ on cab/auto aggregator apps, has come as a much-needed relief.
Major aggregators like Uber and Rapido launched pet services in October 2024, while Namma Yatri started it earlier this month, following growing demand from the community, according to a spokesperson of the aggregator.
