Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Mahesh Kumar Goud announced a State-wide padayatra and Shramdaan programme from July 31 evening till August 6, as part of a mass outreach campaign.
The padayatra will start from Parigi and culminate at Wardhannapet in Warangal, covering key constituencies and aiming to mobilise grassroots support.
Criticising BRS MLC K. Kavitha, Mr. Goud questioned her sudden concern for Backward Classes (BCs). “Ms. Kavitha was in power for ten years but never raised her voice for BCs. People won’t believe her,” he said. He further added, “Congress brought in two laws after coming to power that address BC concerns. He also criticised former Minister Gangula Kamalakar for his silence when the BRS reduced BC reservations. “Why didn’t he speak up then?” he asked.
Earlier, AICC incharge for Telangana, Meenakshi Natarajan, and Mahesh Kumar Goud held a series of meetings with party in-charges of erstwhile districts, parliamentary constituency in-charges, vice-presidents, general secretaries and District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents at the Hyderguda MLA quarters on Tuesday.
The meetings aimed at strengthening the party from the grassroots level mainly focused on appointing DCC presidents, mandal committees and directors for various government corporations and boards.
