Five college students injured as car crashes into tamarind tree near Coimbatore
Five students of a private college at Saravanampatti near Coimbatore suffered injuries after the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree late on Monday (July 28, 2025).
The injured have been identified as Nithin Karu, 22, of Thoothukudi, Santhosh Kumar, 20, of Vilangudi in Madurai, Akash Kumar, 22, of Samypuram Colony in Sivakasi, Kishore Kumar, 22, and Imaya Varamban, 19, of Kumbakonam in Thanjavur.
Four people, including a student, died in separate accidents near Coimbatore, prompting investigations and community protests.
