New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirms that the scene has been contained
At least two people, including a New York City police officer, were shot on Monday in a midtown office building that houses some of the country’s top financial firms and the National Football League, a person familiar with the matter said.
The person, who did not immediately know the victims’ conditions, was not authorised to publicly discuss the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity.
New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch later confirmed that the situation has been contained. “At this time, the scene has been contained and the lone shooter has been neutralised,” Tisch said in a social media statement.
